Past Dues

Our latest single, recorded at Tarquin Studios with producer Peter Katis (The National, Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol). ‘Past Dues’ is a meditation on the trap doors of letting your past define your present. “Past Dues won’t steal my breath”.

About W&Co

Wild & Company is a band in motion, drifting between genres, pulling at the threads of its influences before weaving them into a sound of its own.

Drawing heavily from a lifetime of immersion in the American songwriting canon (Dylan, CSNY, Bruce Springsteen, et al) Wild & Co are unapologetically indie rockers at heart, with an affinity for contemporaries who draw their inspiration from a similar pool (Wilco, The War on Drugs, My Morning Jacket, Dr. Dog, et al). Different songs reveal different influences, and Wild & Co is not afraid to experiment. Their song Run Crawl Walk is synth pop meets heartland rock a la “Dancin’ in the Dark” followed by Livin’ High which could have been written and performed by Lowell George. Their latest release Past Dues is a cross between Nick Drake’s fingerpicking and Lana Del Rey’s washed out swagger.

Wild & Company began with a friendship between John Torres (guitar, vocals) and Ian Tait (Bass, vocals). After years of gigging together and realizing the heavy overlaps in their influences, the duo began writing songs at the tail end of the pandemic and developed an immediate rapport, often leaving songwriting sessions just to head home and keep honing the songs on their own. Once they had a cache of songs completed, they entered the studio with friend and drummer Kurt Leon and cut a string of singles that began to set the tone for what the band would become. The band eventually moved upstairs at Tarquin studios to work with legendary producer Peter Katis (The National, Death Cab for Cutie, Glen Hansard, Interpol) on their latest release Past Dues, which has gone on to become their most popular song to date with hundreds of organic streams daily.

Welcome Canyon

Canyon

In the spring of 2026, an old friendship brought a new voice into the mix. John reconnected with Canyon, a gifted singer and songwriter whose warm, expressive voice and instinctive musicality added a new dimension to the project, and after she met Ian, the three quickly found a rhythm together. What started as spending time together jamming grew into writing, recording, and sharing the stage. Canyon became part of Wild & Co, and Wild & Co became her backing band—two projects with a shared cast and a growing collection of songs.

The band intends big things in 2027, a full length record release, as many shows as they can fit into their schedule, and continuous songwriting to keep the band ever in motion.
